Free Online Phonic Videos

At De Beauvoir, we learn phonics using Read Write Inc. There is a video about understanding phonics - have a look at why we teach phonics. 

It is important that the children are saying pure sounds. Have a look at how to say the different phonemes (sounds) in the English language. 

Watch Ruth and Rosie teach phonics lessons to help your child learn to read at home. Lessons are from Monday to Friday. Each one is ten minutes long and available for 24 hours.

Hi Reception,

I have all this delicious, juicy fruit in my fruit bowl. Can you help me to sort them please?

1. Can you help me name the different types of fruit that I have?

2.  How many of each do I have?

3. How can I sort them?

4. Here's a tricky one - what juices could I make this week? I was thinking Apple and Pear, but I would love to hear your thoughts. Would you be able to write me a juice list?

All of our parents, across Reception and Nursery, received a text message today that will allow direct and constant access to an extensive range of games and learning experiences that can be played together!

Plant Parts

At school, the children have been learning about the different parts of a flower. Have a look at the video on BBC Bitesize to find out some more information about the different parts of the plant. There is even a quiz to do.

Wow look at Joshua's amazing picture of a flower. He has used his sounds to label the different parts of the flower! He remembered two sets of special friends, can you spot which sounds he used?
